Event Description

The NYU Post-Graduate Medical School and the Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology are proud to host Advances in Dermatology, a symposium which targets practitioners caring for people with skin disease, including dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, and residents in dermatology.  

 

Learning objectives include:

  • Based on a careful consideration of risk and benefit, as well as the published guidelines, demonstrate proper patient selection for medical, surgical and cosmetic intervention for dermatologic conditions
  • Describe alternative nonsurgical methods of facial rejuvenation, including an expanding range of fillers, new chemodenervation agents, and fractional ablative technologies and formulate multimodality treatment plans based on known effectiveness of combination therapy
  • Expand treatment options for non-surgical and minimally surgical fat contouring based on the implementation of laser assisted devices
  • Base strategic approach to removal of cutaneous malignancy on epidemiologic, histopathologic, and current clinical research
  • Describe strategies for incorporating adult therapies into pediatric patient treatment plans
  • Critically evaluate available data on new treatments for psoriasis, including biologic and small molecule therapy, as well new findings for connective tissue disease
