We all get wrinkles as we age, but we can take steps to minimize or prevent them. Renowned dermatologist Dr. Nicholas Perricone explains the method he's developed to prevent wrinkles. * Dr. Perricone believes that wrinkles are largely caused by inflammation, which is brought on by a variety of factors, including stress, pollution and poor diet. Here are his recommendations for the anti-inflammatory regimen. * He recommends what he calls the three-day "facelift in a fridge," which includes a couple of servings of salmon each day, plenty of fruits and vegetables and good carbs. * He is also a believer in nutritional supplements like alpha lipoic acid, vitamin C ester and DMAE (dimethylaminoethanol). * He also recommends topical creams and lotions that he has developed, which he says have the ability to penetrate the skin and provide anti-inflammatory help. * Don't blame genetics if you have wrinkles. He estimates genetics account for about 40 percent of the characteristics of your skin, but you can control the rest. * You have to protect your skin from the sun, but you need to get about 15 minutes of sunlight every day to get the Vitamin D your body needs.
