Washington, D.C. - The International Alliance for Global Health Dermatology (GLODERM) was announced this month at the annual American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meeting. GLODERM was created to organize individuals focused on global health dermatology. It consists of physicians, professionals, trainees and other members to advance skin care provision to those in resource-poor settings.
GLODERM’s leadership consists of Dr. Esther Freeman (Harvard, FAAD), Claire Fuller, and Wingfield Rehmus (University of British Columbia). It seeks to organize global and community health projects in resource-poor settings across the globe and to promote the sharing of best practices worldwide.
At the annual AAD meeting, GLODERM organized lectures and included speakers such as Professor Ousmane Faye, Drs. Carrie Kovarik, Tori Williams, Toby Maurer, Scott Norton and Alexia Knapp.
GLODERM will hold its next annual scientific meeting, in Denver, Colorado, concurrent with the next AAD annual meeting.
