World Congress of Dermatology - 22nd annual

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Korean Dermatological Association (KDA) and the Local Organizing Committee, we would like to cordially invite all of you to attend the 22nd World Congress of Dermatology (WCD) to be held in May 24th-29th 2011, in Seoul, Korea.

The KDA is extremely honored to have the privilege of hosting the WCD for the first time in Korea throughout its over 120 year history. Set in the state-of-the-art COEX Convention and Exhibition Center, with partnership and help from the ILDS and its member societies, the 22nd WCD in Seoul promises to be an exciting and memorable experience.

In the past half century Korea has undergone a nearly unrivaled transformation from a developing country to one of the world’s largest economies and a global leader in technology and innovation. Likewise, recently the field of dermatology has been advancing enormously across the entire spectrum of sub-specialties. In light of this, the 22nd WCD plans to follow in the great footsteps of previous World Congresses with pertinent scientific organization under the energetic guide of the ILDS program committee. In Seoul, a new electronic-poster system will be adopted for the first time. In addition, the local organizing committee ambitiously plans to hold six KDA seminars between 7 and 8 am every day (30 total) in order to provide an increased variety of educational opportunities.

As the capital city of Korea for over 600 years, Seoul has rich culture and traditions combined with many modern resources. We believe you will have a chance to enjoy, not only an attractive city, but all of Korea in the pleasantly warm weather which accompanies the end of the spring season. In a country which represents the forefront of modern information technology, and in a time when “globalization” is no longer a catch-phrase but a well accepted norm, what could be a better theme for this event than Connecting the World through Innovative Dermatology?
