Alice B. Gottlieb, MD, PhD, FAAD, Joins Board of Directors of the American Academy of Dermatology

NEW ORLEANS (Feb 4, 2011) — Boston dermatologist Alice B. Gottlieb, MD, PhD, FAAD, begins a four-year term as a member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Dermatology (Academy), the world’s largest dermatologic society, representing more than 16,000 physicians specializing in the diagnosis and medical, surgical and cosmetic treatment of skin, hair and nails conditions.

Elected to the board of directors in April 2010, Dr. Gottlieb assumed office at the conclusion of the Academy’s 69th Annual Meeting in New Orleans. She will hold the same position for the American Academy of Dermatology Association.

Dr. Gottlieb received her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College and her doctorate in immunology from the Rockefeller University, both in New York. She is currently the Harvey B. Ansell Professor of Dermatology at Tufts University School of Medicine and the chair of dermatology and dermatologist-in-chief at Tufts Medical Center, both in Boston.

An active member of the dermatologic community, Dr. Gottlieb is a councilor for the International Psoriasis Consortium and a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation’s Medical Advisory Board. She has served on several Academy work groups and is a past president of the Medical Dermatology Society.
